Key features
Precision excavation assistance
The heart of IMC is its semi-automatic operation, enabling operators to effortlessly dig exactly to a digital plan — even complex surfaces. This prevents costly over excavation and can reduce reliance on staking crews and grade checkers. It is so capable, IMC excavators can be used for finish grading.
Automated functions
Several functions enhance efficiency and reduce effort. Auto Swing moves the bucket to a set point such as a truck or crusher with a button push. Another push returns to the digging point. Swing-to-line is similar, aligning the bucket to the trench centerline. Travel-along-line automatically steers to keep the trench centered, even on curved runs.
3D Boundary Control
Set restricted surfaces in 3D, such as structures, powerlines, bench edges or embankments and the excavator will stop automatically before the edge of the surface. This includes the bucket, boom, body and tracks. The machine stays on target and so does the schedule.
Advanced payload metering
Bucket payload is displayed in real time, helping the operator to load trucks within target. Automatically counts and tracks loads in the Smart Construction Fleet Lite app, so operators, supervisors and office staff can see real-time production data.
Collect as-built data
IMC 3.0 collects as-built data with every pass. This helps it plan the next pass, but also can be automatically imported into Smart Construction Dashboard 3D visualization software to track project progress.
In-field design
IMC 3.0 digs to digital plans uploaded to the machine or designed on its in-cab touchscreen. Operators can also intuitively create even complex structures, such as channels, with cross-section modes, polyline creation and editing.
