PLUS system
Parallel-link undercarriage
State-of-the-art crawler technology designed to increase durability and reduce maintenance costs.
This crawler system, known as PLUS (Parallel-Link Undercarriage System), connects a set of rotating bushings to a parallel-link crawler.
With new rotating bushings and other improvements, Komatsu’s revolutionary PLUS undercarriage system results in a substantial increase in durability and a dramatic reduction in maintenance and repair costs. |

Links can be replaced individually without having to completely disassemble the crawler;

The crawler frame can use either the PLUS system or conventional systems, requiring only a few specific components to be changed.
As the bushings rotate, wear across the assembly is uniform, reducing localized wear and eliminating the need to rotate the bushings.
The parallel link frame keeps the crawler rigid, increasing its durability. It also facilitates individual link replacement. Thus, the PLUS system can be used in various soil conditions.
In addition to changes in the bushings and pins, other components of the undercarriage have also been modified:
Links
- Reinforced design for increased strength;
- 45% more wear-resistant material;
- Links can be replaced individually in the field.
Lower roller guards
- The new design eliminates damage to the pins;
- The new guards make contact with the link, not the pin.
Upper rollers
- More wear-resistant material;
- The deeper hardening of the wear-resistant material increases durability.
Lower rollers
- Flange height increased by 33%;
- Improved link alignment with greater link durability;
- Flange profile adapted to the new link shape.
Drive wheel
- Modular design for easy replacement. Designed to minimize material buildup.
