Lower roller assembly

Crawler frame upgrade

The OEM side frame-compatible crawler frame upgrade has been manufactured to help extend your shovel’s structural life. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and strain gauge studies helped drive design changes, resulting in an enhanced structural life of up to 60,000 hours.

Track and carrier rollers

Friction and shock loads transmitted from the track chain create heat within the roller. To withstand this, several quality steps are taken in the manufacturing of Komatsu genuine OEM rollers.

• To help keep oil in and dirt out, rollers are constructed of long-wearing, heat-resistant material supported by rubber load rings
• To reduce friction and help extend roller life, Komatsu OEM rollers utilize highly polished shafts and bronze bushings
• For strength and long wear life, rollers have heat-treated tread and flange areas
• To help keep you up and running, heavy-duty mounting brackets secure rollers to track frames, allowing the transmission of shock loads throughout the track frame
• Reservoir cavities in roller shells and shafts feed lubricant throughout the roller’s interior to reduce damage-causing heat
• To provide absorption of shock loads and avoid brittleness, hardness decreases toward the inner bore; surface hardness of the outer shell reduces wear caused by friction

Track link assembly options

We understand your excavator needs are demanding and varied. Working with our valued customers, we’ve designed three different types of link assemblies for excavators to help you meet the needs of your wide-ranging machine applications.

• Grease Sealed Track (GST): The link assemblies of the GST consist of links, pins, bushings and a “W” seal. These assemblies are the basic form of the sealed track, but include grease to help reduce internal pin and bushing wear, promoting extended life of the assembly.
• General Construction (GC): These track link assemblies help control operating and maintenance costs based on application. Compatible with Komatsu PC160, PC200, PC300 & PC400 excavators, these parts perform well for general construction applications. Please note: GC link assemblies should not be used in high impact applications such as quarries, forestry and waste applications.
• Skidding Link Assembly: This innovative link structure is engineered for strength and reinforcement that delivers durability, especially in demanding applications such as forestry.

Track link assembly options

You need reliable, high-quality components for your operation. We’ve designed the following six types of bulldozer link assemblies to address the needs of diverse working environments.

• SALT (Sealed and Lubricated Track): For dozers that travel often, the SALT link assembly is lubricated with oil to help reduce wear between the pin and the bushing
• PLUS (Parallel Link Undercarriage System): Suitable for small and medium-size dozers, the PLUS line can deliver up to twice the life vs. standard options with its Komatsu-exclusive design that features a rotating bushing to help minimize wear between segment and bushing
• AR (Abrasive Resistant): For abrasive applications, such as loam or sand, the AR track link features enhanced bushing material and is manufactured using a patented heat treatment process for deep-hardened depth
• GC (General Construction): GC undercarriage components help minimize the operating and maintenance costs of your construction machines
• HD (Heavy Duty): Engineered for enhanced performance in rocky applications, the ruggedized HD track link offers increased link height and a larger bushing
• DB (Dual Bushing): Suitable for large-size dozers operating in abrasive applications, a rotating bushing helps mitigate segment and bushing wear, manufactured with two bushings and an internal lubrication

Track shoes

Track shoes provide the working platform for the machine, penetrating the ground and giving the machine traction to move. Proper shoe selection is important for better machine performance and longer undercarriage life; the narrowest shoe possible that allows adequate flotation should always be selected. A wider shoe is more likely to reduce the life of the undercarriage, due to flexing while the machine is riding over rocks and hitting obstacles.

Choose the correct shoe for your underfoot condition:

• Single grouser: Manufactured for rugged operations, the extra-thick grouser offers excellent resistance
• Double/triple grouser: Provides lower traction due to low grousers and operates efficiently on soft ground and during cargo handling in ships. It is low in turning resistance, high in maneuverability
• Heavy duty shoe: Suitable for mid-size and large dozers that are used in abrasive, high-impact applications; the grouser and plate portions of this shoe are thicker and stronger, providing higher bending and wear resistance
• Swamp: For use in small and mid-size dozers in swamp applications, this shoe is designed with an arc-style penetration, creating buoyancy

Excavator track shoes

Track shoes penetrate the ground giving the machine traction to move — proper shoe selection is important for optimum machine performance and long undercarriage life. The narrowest shoe that allows adequate floatation should always be selected; a wider shoe could reduce the life of the undercarriage due to flexing while the machine is riding over rocks and hitting obstacles.

• Triple grouser: For efficient operation on soft ground and during cargo handling in ships, these strong, sturdy shoes for low penetration are equipped with three grousers of equal height, for low turning resistance, high maneuverability
• Double/single grouser: For work in adverse conditions, these types of shoe have taller grouser bar, designed for increased penetration
• Heavy-duty shoe: For abrasive and high-impact applications, the grouser and plate portions of this shoe are thicker and stronger, which provides high bending and wear resistance
• Roadliner/city shoe: For operating on smooth asphalt and other paved or cement surfaces, this shoe is for low noise and low vibrations
