Blasthole drill steel

Komatsu blasthole drill steel — both fabricated and integral — is tailored to your specific drill regardless of manufacture, OD diameters of 7" to 13 3/4". Our fabricated drill steel features tool joints made from alloy steel and is inspected with ultrasonic technology for quality assurance. Wrench slots or flats are milled to suit the requirements of the drill's wrench size and location. All rotary-shouldered connections are kemplated to protect against galling during the break-in period. Heavy wall construction and optional hard facing help promote longer life and lower operating costs.

• Integral drill steel is made from premium quality alloy steel bars
• Bores are trepanned to sizes for the correct balance in the selected rotary-shouldered connection
• Concentricity and axial alignment of the connections to the drill steel are held to close tolerance
• Application of tungsten hard facing is available to help protect fabricated or integral steel from abrasion and erosion
• Komatsu also manufactures bit subs matching the drill pipe and selected bits used by the customer. Also manufactures the saver sub/top sub connecting the drill pipe to the shock sub.

Trapping shoe insert

Hoist ropes and pendants

Komatsu hoist ropes feature a design with a spiral fluted core that supports the formed and compacted outer strands for improved fatigue resistance. The plastic impregnation inhibits internal contact and minimizes wear between strands. Plus, exceptionally high breaking strength improves service life to help reduce shovel downtime.

Stabilizers

Model 63-B and welded blade products lead our complete line of blasthole stabilizers. Our original roller stabilizer, model 63-B, is specially designed for blasthole drilling. This product is positioned behind the bit to centralize and stabilize it, providing smooth rotation, controlled vibration and more effective drilling. Air is circulated through the rollers, cooling and cleaning the hardened bearing surfaces and promoting longer wear life. The result is a quality-built stabilizer that achieves better penetration rates.

• Welded blade stabilizers are manufactured with an alloy steel body and can be supplied with straight or spiral ribs
• Ribs are steel wear bars welded to the body and covered with a hard metal overlay or tungsten carbide inserts
• Welded blade stabilizers are extremely effective in a variety of formations — wet, dry, soft, or medium
