Multifunctional operator display MOD

For the service team, this new dashboard provides seven times more screen area dedicated to fault alerts. It offers clear, unabbreviated fault descriptions. Expandable languages support broadens global operability. Moreover, the MOD keeps a recent fault history on board, streamlining the troubleshooting process.

830E wet disc brakes

Help enhance your operator's stopping performance even in adverse conditions by converting your conventional dry disc brakes to wet disc brakes with the Komatsu 830E conversion kit. Wet disc brakes help extend brake life by dissipating heat energy more efficiently and help minimize friction material wear by transmitting torque through oil shear principles.

Machine Intervention System MIS Kit

Give your haul truck operators increased situational awareness to navigate their surroundings effectively by connecting your third-party PDS to the haul truck via the Komatsu Machine Intervention System (MIS) kit. This system is designed to interact with third-party proximity detection systems (PDS) that enable your haul truck operators with real-time alerts and vehicle status updates so they can make informed decisions to enhance their performance.

The system's machine intervention controller (MIC) connects to the truck's internal Controller Area Network bus (CANbus) and serves as an interface between your third-party PDS and the truck’s information network. By collecting real-time data from the truck and allowing for predefined interventions from the PDS (such as applying the service brake or inhibiting motion), your operators can confidently maneuver around the work site to help boost operational efficiency.

Operators get this real-time feedback through the haul truck’s indicator panel and receive audible warning alarms in the cab so that they can monitor the intervention status and overall system health.

Fuel saver II

Fuel Saver II is available for in-situ installation on Komatsu haul trucks. The overall fuel consumption reduction is achieved using advanced software that adjusts the engine rpm in the truck’s different operating stages.

Before activation or installation, mine-specific data, such as: operating altitude, ambient operating temperatures and haul profiles must be reviewed and approved by Komatsu’s Global Mining Solutions team.

Smartzone Proximity System

Smart rims

The seven-piece Smart Rim was designed with additional Bead Seat bands and Smart Lock Rings, unlike the traditional five-piece rim system. This allows maintenance personnel to install and remove the rear tires on the rear axle without having to remove the rim.

Advantages:

• Easier tire removal
• Reduced tire maintenance time by as much as 50% vs. traditional five-piece rim systems

Proximity detection

Komatsu has developed a personal proximity detection system for use on the longwall face to help control automated shield movements when personnel are nearby. This system utilizes fully integrated low-power wireless transceivers in each RS20s Faceboss mimic to determine the location of each person wearing a battery-powered tag or personal wearable device (PWD). The PWD currently uses relative RF signal strength and an accelerometer to locate the operator's position.

• Existing RS20s systems can be upgraded to operate personal proximity detection by simply upgrading the mimic to the latest Faceboss version.
• Komatsu’s proprietary web-based user interface Longwall Information System (LIS) is utilized to set up the system and display live tracking information.

Quad Chopper

The Quad Chopper upgrade kit is used to upgrade current drive systems using RP Contactors in the control system, through the addition of maintenance- and inspection-free solid-state inverters. Replacing the RP Contactors with the solid-state inverters helps to improve reliability and overall performance of your drive system.
