Las Vegas, March 6, 2020 — Komatsu cares about the health and safety of its customers and employees at the upcoming CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2020 tradeshow, Komatsu is working with show organizers to reduce risk and follow protocols provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus.

“Collaborating with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers and our show partners, we are moving forward with plans for a successful show that properly considers health and safety for all attendees and support staff,” said Rod Schrader, Chairman and CEO of Komatsu’s North American operations.

As noted on the show’s official website, the following measures are being put in place per protocols provided by the CDC:

  • Providing additional hand sanitizers and cleaning protocols throughout the show grounds, including in all registration areas, media rooms, information stands, the international trade center, meeting/education spaces, workforce and VIP areas, the Festival Grounds and Westgate, and all monorail stations
  • Adding staff to increase cleaning of all common areas using strong disinfectant
  • Working with Centerplate concessions to ensure all protocols are followed by the health department
  • Encouraging a “no handshake” policy onsite and providing buttons and stickers to attendees and exhibitors to help emphasize the need to refrain from greeting others by touching hands

Komatsu still plans to display nearly 25 machines, including models brand-new to the North American market, across 40,000 square feet of exhibit space at booth N-10825. The company has reduced the number of employees traveling to support the show and is keeping staff well informed on recommended protocols, supporting anyone with concerns and working to reduce any potential risks.

“The health and safety of our teams and support of our customers are very important to us and we will continue to adjust plans if further measures become necessary,” Schrader said. “For now, we are looking forward to a great show and are working in full support with all those involved to adhere to all recommended protocols.”
