Elko, October 8, 2018 — The Joy Global Foundation, in partnership with Komatsu Mining Corp, has shown its commitment to supporting organizations that serve the local communities in which its employees live, work and play by making a $10,000 contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko, Nevada.
“We’re very excited that the Komatsu organization has kept our partnership with the Elko Boys & Girls Clubs alive through the Joy Global Foundation,” said Jason Ashby, regional manager, Komatsu. “It’s a really great cause that provides after-school and summer programs to more than 300 local kids per day. I cannot stress enough how important it is to get behind organizations like this that make such a meaningful impact on our communities.”
With one of the top daily attendances in the United States, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko, Nevada provides programs that help foster a sense of belonging, personal empowerment, achievement and self-confidence among children while equipping them with the skills they will need to become successful adults. “We can’t thank the Joy Global Foundation enough,” said Rusty Bahr, CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko. “This contribution will make a difference in the lives of so many kids.”

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko was founded in 1999 and currently serves 300 youth per day and has over 1,300 members. Our Club serves the children who need us most with 55% of our Club members falling below the poverty line. It is our vision to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.
