Smart Quarry solutions

Autonomy made accessible for quarry operations

Smart Quarry Autonomous combines Komatsu’s experience in quarry equipment with advanced technology from Silicon Valley to deliver fully autonomous haulage. The system is designed for quarry environments, enabling driverless operation without the infrastructure, complexity and cost often associated with large-scale mining systems.

Smart Quarry Autonomous is a collaboration between Komatsu, Pronto, a cutting-edge Silicon Valley autonomous technology company and Komatsu dealers.

How it works (light)

A simple approach to autonomy

Smart Quarry Autonomous retrofits existing haul trucks with onboard perception, positioning and control systems, enabling fully autonomous haul cycles across the site.

Operations are monitored and managed through a web-based interface, providing real-time visibility into fleet activity and performance.

Flexible sensing (short)

Flexible sensing options to match your operation

  • Camera-based autonomy for most quarry environments, with additional sensing options available for more complex or low-visibility conditions.
  • Vision-based system designed for quarry operations
  • Optional LiDAR and radar for enhanced detection
  • Configurations designed to match site requirements without unnecessary complexity
