The HM460-6 is equipped with our next-generation Komatsu DBA127 engine, engineered to deliver high horsepower and torque for strong acceleration and sustained travel speeds on trade, even under full bed. The two-stage turbocharger engine is designed to use 12% less fuel than the prior model's.
Ground conditions change quickly. The HM460-6 is designed to help operators adapt with confidence. The Komatsu Traction Control System works in combination with inter-axle and cross-axle differential locks for smooth, trouble-free hauling. The cross-axle differential lock can be manually engaged when need on slippery terrain.
An all-new 9-speed transmission integrated with the DBA127 engine helps optimize power delivery across varying haul conditions. The expanded gear range makes acceleration smooth, cruising speed efficient, and gradeability responsive, while increaseing fuel efficiency by up to 22%.
The HM460-6 has a redesigned high-strength steel body for durability in demand applications. It can handle heavy loads while maintaining balance and stability. Compared to the prior model, the HM460-6 increases payload capacity by two short tons — giving operators 46.3 U.S. tons to move more material across all jobsites.
A cab where operators can perform and thrive, even during long shifts, can lead to greater productivity. An increased glass area helps reduce blind spots and improve visibility. An all-new premium air-suspended seat and ergonomic controls help reduce fatigue and support consistent performance.
A myriad of operator-assist features make hauling and dumping easier. Cruise control and Automatic Retard Speed Control make maintaining an efficient velocity simple. Dumping can be controlled with a single finger, with a customizable dumping angle. Many other advanced features support operations.
The HM460-6 cab structure firmly meets all rollover protective structure standards. A seat belt beacon alert system provides in-cab notication and external visual indicuation status. These features are intended to reinforce jobsite safety protocols and promote responsible operations across the crew.
The DBA127 engine has an EGR-less design, a simple architucture that reduces maintenance complexity. By eliminating the exhaust gas recirculation system, service intervals are extended and routine mainteinance streamliend, helping to lower your total cost of ownership.
The HM460-6 operator monitor allows inspection of three brake systems through an integrated check procedure. By consolidating brake verification within the in-cab interface, the system streamlines daily checks and helps ensure consistent compliance with site inspection protocols.
