Machine control

The MaxiXT machine control system is a market leader thanks to its complete integration with other systems. Everything is included, from crane control and cabin leveling to transmission and ladders. An unlimited number of users can be easily created, as well as a number of different operator profiles to work under different conditions. All operator-specific functions can be adjusted to achieve the exact sensitivity and speed – or smoothness and precision – preferred by each operator.

Head control

The MaxiXT's head control is one of the most versatile on the market. Together with the efficient hydraulic system, it allows even the narrowest cutting windows to be executed quickly and accurately. The power of the knives, traction rollers, and downward tilt function can be easily adjusted with a graph and is determined by the trunk diameter and tree species. This offers excellent productivity, measurement accuracy, and time savings. Other popular functions include saber retrieval and cleaning.

Area management

The operator creates areas to which information is associated during harvesting. An unlimited number of areas can be created. Subareas can be created for each area. Creating, modifying, and closing areas is easy, as everything is managed in one place: an overview of the area. MaxiXT can be configured so that all reports are fully automated, without any operator interaction.

Tracing

The MaxiXT can handle all tracing requirements, from the simplest to full-value optimized tracing. Creating layout instructions to optimize lengths is easy, using a method where the system selects the assortment and length based on a list of priorities. The MaxiXT with value-optimized tracking offers one of the most efficient tracking systems on the market, optimizing extraction by value based on sawmill preferences. Based on the exceptional and documented measurement accuracy of Komatsu cylinder heads, volumes are calculated with great precision.

Equipment

Computer developed specifically for the demanding environments of forestry machinery. The hard drive is an SSD, which means fast read and write times, and the absence of moving parts means greater reliability and durability. USB port for fast and easy data transfers to USB flash drives. Transfer compatibility with GSM, GPRS, EDGE, CDMA450, WLAN, satellite and more. The optional 12-inch touchscreen can register clicks and gestures in the same way as a tablet, computer, or smartphone.

Maintenance

The MaxiXT displays alarms in working mode, indicating the cause and error code if something goes wrong. After confirmation, the alarm is saved to an exportable log file. All confirmed alarms are clearly collected in an alarm list. Komatsu's exclusive spare parts system, ESS, includes all machine components, part numbers, exploded views, and much more. The easy-to-use troubleshooting tool enables comprehensive troubleshooting of system hardware and network issues.

Decision support

The MaxiXT also includes a range of advanced decision support and assistance systems, for example, to optimize off-road driving, improve measurement quality, and simplify communication with the outside world. Examples include MaxiS for trunk profile and detailed trunk data, MaxiVision for maps and GIS information, ESS for spare parts, and email for communication.
