Frequently asked questions about Komtrax

A step-by-step explanation of how Komtrax works.

  1. A GPS satellite provides positioning information for your equipment in the field.
  2. The Komtrax unit on your machine collects engine and location data, then sends it to the satellite.

Pioneering telematics for machinery

Komatsu was one of the pioneers in introducing telematics to the heavy machinery industry, and today this technology comes standard on new machines. The system helps customers track location, prevent unauthorized use, monitor fuel consumption, reduce downtime, and compare performance across fleets.

With features such as operator identification, fuel theft prevention, and data reporting, Komatsu telematics enables smarter machinery management, reduces costs, and increases efficiency.
