The decision to award a piece of equipment the Komatsu Premium Used badge is not made by Komatsu's sales department. Only the regional Service Manager in each of our major branches can validate and sign a Premium Used Certificate. That happens only when evidence from all the tests, analysis and maintenance confirms that the machine meets the Premium Used standard.

Only our range of equipment qualifies for the Komatsu Premium Used badge. Komatsu's appraisal and inspection system, KVS, is industry leading technology. A program for delivering a comprehensive evaluation of used earthmoving equipment, KVS provides specific questions for each product type, in these key areas: general appearance, safety, engine, electrical, hydraulics, chassis, tyres and undercarriage, attachments.

A comprehensive inspection report checking all fluid levels, hydraulic and transmission pressures and cycle times, fuel setting, engine speed and pressures, and we grease all work equipment. If we find the machine needs a tune-up, an adjustment, or even a major repair we will complete this before qualifying the equipment for the Komatsu Premium Used Equipment badge.

Komatsu Oil and Wear Analysis (KOWA) reveals the exact condition of all the equipment's major components. We also review the machine's history, replacing components which are found wanting. Our decision to award a machine the Komatsu Premium Used badge is based on information, not guesswork.

The undercarriage represents a significant investment for any sized machine. Our complete assessment covers track group, link assemblies including pins and bushes, grouser plates, rollers, idlers, sprockets. Only machines with a completed UMS undercarriage report and passed, are classed as Komatsu Premium Used Equipment.
