Komatsu Williams Design Grand Prix - terms and conditions


Definition

Komatsu is the entity responsible for hosting the Komatsu Williams Design Grand Prix (thereafter referred to as “The Promoter”). The Komatsu Williams Design Grand Prix (hereafter referred to as the “Competition”).

Eligibility & entry

  1. The Competition is open to all Komatsu Group Company employees and their direct family (father, mother, husband, wife, partner, son, daughter), as well as the employees and direct family of any official Komatsu distributor.

     

  2. To participate, simply create an image that shows why you’re excited about Komatsu’s partnership with the Atlassian Williams F1 Team. The image can be AI generated, or non-AI (e.g. drawing, photo, arts and craft)

     

  3. All creative submissions must be submitted using the Komatsu Design Grand Prix submission form, which you can access by clicking here.

     

  4. The Competition opens on Monday April 13, 2026 at 00:01 (UTC) and runs through until Thursday April 30, 2026 at 23:59 (UTC).

     

  5. Users can submit one piece of artwork per entry. Multiple entries are allowed to be submitted

     

  6. The design entries will be assessed by a panel of judges which will be determined by The Promoter. The selected judges will be briefed on the purpose of the Competition and the criteria for winning entries.

     

  7. The winners of the competition will be broken down into three separate age categories:
    • Children under 8 (guardian consent required)
    • Children aged 9 – 17 (guardian consent required
    • Adults (18+)

       

  8. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants.

     

  9. Winners will be notified via the email address they have used to register for this Competition. By registering, you are agreeing to be contacted via your registered email address. Komatsu will also publish results and updates for this promotion through internal communications channels throughout the year, including but not limited to Yammer/ Viva Engage.

     

  10. The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entries and remove them immediately if the Promoter considers such entries to be in bad faith, fraudulent, illegal, or showing any illegal, immoral, lewd or disrespectful behaviour.

     

  11. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude participants and withhold any prizes awarded if that participant is no longer an employee of Komatsu Group Company or an official Komatsu distributor.

     

  12. The Promoter reserves the right to exclude participants and withhold any prizes awarded for violation of any of these Terms and Conditions.

     

    Prizes

  13. The Promoter is solely responsible for all prize fulfilment throughout the duration of the Competition.

     

  14. For each age category of the Competition, the prizes will be as follows:

     

    AI entries

    • 1st = An Atlassian Williams F1 Team jacket (Atlassian Williams F1 Team hoodie will be awarded to children in the younger category)
    • 2nd = A scale model of an Atlassian Williams F1 Team driver helmet
    • 3rd = An Atlassian Williams F1 Team Lego Set

     

    Non-AI entries

    • 1st = An Atlassian Williams F1 Team jacket (Atlassian Williams F1 Team hoodie will be awarded to children in the younger category)
    • 2nd = A scale model of an Atlassian Williams F1 Team driver helmet
    • 3rd = An Atlassian Williams F1 Team Lego Set

     

    Lucky Draw prizes:

    • At the end of the campaign, 5 participants selected at random to receive an Atlassian Williams F1 Team cap

     

  15. There is no cash alternative to the prizes. All prizes are also non-transferable.

     

  16. Prizes remain the sole property of the Participant and cannot be transferred (in whole or in part), to any other Participant. Prizes may not be bartered, sold, combined or exchanged with any other promotion.

     

  17. The Promoters will work to provide the prizes within a reasonable time period, but by accepting these terms and conditions, participants confirm they understand that this could be delayed.

     

  18. Any lost prizes due to errors in the delivery addresses provided by the Participant are the sole responsibility of the Participant.

     

    Use of AI in the Competition

  19. Participants are allowed and encouraged to utilise AI as part of their design entries to the competition.

     

  20. Participants must read and adhere to their local region’s AI policies before participating in this competition (if submitting an AI design)

     

  21. When utilising AI tools, promoting and creative direction by the participant must involve original and human input.

     

  22. When inputting information into the chosen AI tool, do not upload confidential company information, internal documents or sensitive information. A reminder that external AI tools may store prompts and outputs.

     

  23. By submitting an entry, participants confirm that their submission does not infringe any third-party rights and complies with the terms of the AI tool us

     

    Notification

  24. If a winner does not respond to the Promoter within 14 days of being notified of their win, their prize will be forfeited. The Promoter reserves the right to select another winner to receive such forfeited prize, and that winner will also have to respond to notification of their win within 14 days or else they will also forfeit

     

  25. If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, that winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner.

     

    Privacy and Data Protection

  26. Any personal data relating to participants will be used in accordance with all relevant Data Protection legislation and will only be disclosed to third parties to fulfil requirements of the Competition and further promotion.

     

    Competition

  27. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Competition or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any Amendment to the Terms and Conditions will be communicated with participants.

     

    Responsibilities

  28. Komatsu and their agents shall not be liable or responsible where the performance or prompt performance of its obligations is prevented or affected by any event beyond its reasonable control including, but not limited to, acts or omissions of Participants, third parties, industrial disputes, hostilities, political unrest, internet problems, telecommunications problems, computer problems or natural disasters.

     

  29.  Komatsu and their agents shall not be liable or responsible for any consequential, indirect and/or special losses or damages that may be suffered or incurred in relation to the Competition and/or these Terms and Conditions.

     

    Proprietary Rights to Content

  30. The design and content of the Competition, any related materials, services and software (including but not limited to text, sound, photographs, graphics or other material continued in any Competition communications, advertisements or messages, whether by Komatsu, or advertisers or partners) are protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents and/or other intellectual property rights and laws and are owned by Komatsu and licensors and their use is permitted only as expressly authorised in writing by Komatsu or as required by law.

     

    General

  31. Komatsu shall be entitled to have an agent or contractor carry out all or part of the Competition process on its behalf.

     

  32. Komatsu reserves the right, subject to applicable laws, to disclose to relevant third party’s information that Participants have provided, or information that Komatsu has obtained regarding Participants’ account:
    • to agents of Komatsu or its group companies and/or affiliates, including but not limited to independent auditors, consultants or attorneys, sub-contractors and those working for or on behalf of Komatsu;
    • in order to comply with any applicable law, government authority or court orders or requests;
    • to facilitate the administration, monitoring and implementation of the Competition
    • for the internal purposes of Komatsu business (including but not limited to assessing and monitoring the Competition and the way and manner in which Participants participate in the Competition and identifying or detecting any misuse of the Competition or breaches of its Terms and Conditions).
