1570W and 8050 planetary swing upgrade system

P&H planetary transmissions are designed for the severe duty that is demanded for mining materials in harsh climates. These units provide longer periods between rebuild than parallel shaft or split power swing gearboxes. The P&H transmission is significantly larger and more robust than off-the-shelf planetary transmissions but is comparatively more compact than the parallel shaft swing gearboxes. Replacing parallel shaft swing gearboxes with planetary transmissions eliminates the need for swing timing. The replacement will also provide added deck space around the swing units for inspection and maintenance access.

8200 gear case upgrade

The OEM hoist and drag gear cases on the Marion 8200 are fabricated from plate steel reinforced by thin section stiffener plates, fillet welded to the main case walls. With the natural flexing of the rotating frame, this gear case can also flex and cause pinion/gear misalignment that may compromise the life of the gearing and result in reduced reliability and availability. Flexing may also result in fatigue and cracking of stiffener plates, as well as oils leaks around the pinion bearings and case lip parting faces. 

Are you looking for a cost-effective gear case solution? This case has 100 mm (4 in) side walls and base plates to minimize flexing during operation. The case also incorporates extensive use of full penetration welds and weld grinding. This innovative design provides:  

• Maintenance of good pinion/gear alignment  
• Elimination of stiffener plate cracking

• Double oil seal retainers and O-ring seal on the lid minimize oil leakage

Bolt-on replacement swing rack

Designed for durability and simplified maintainability. Thermally stress-relieved fabrication and forged alloy rack offer improved fatigue life over the cast version. The bolt-on replacement swing rack eliminates the need to remove the entire assembly to replace the rack.

Boom replacement

Tubular booms on walking draglines may require intensive maintenance as the structure ages and fatigues. Weld joints — especially those for lacing joints — are not easily inspected, so condition monitoring is a challenge. These joints may suffer continued cracking and require frequent inspection and weld repair. A solution to this is replacement of the original tubular boom with the P&H four-chord boom using wide flange beams for the chords.

• OEM approach to boom replacement by analyzing the many components on the dragline directly affected by the boom
• The P&H boom has a geometry that balances axial working loads on each chord and a flatter bottom on the boom for good operator visibility
• Solid modeling is used for FEA analysis

PH 10- and 11-inch delta conversions

The P&H 10- and 11-inch Delta (Deep Engaging Long-Life Track Assembly) lower works conversion for Bucyrus 495 and Cat 7495 series shovels incorporate low-maintenance design features available on P&H shovels. The 10-inch conversion captures features of the P&H 2800 series shovel and components from the conversion are interchangeable with the P&H 2800. The 11-inch conversion captures features of the P&H 4100 series shovel and components from the conversion are interchangeable with the P&H 4100.

PH crawler frame upgrade

P&H side frames have been proven in severe duty applications. This same engineering and manufacturing expertise has now been applied to the design of non-P&H structures, models 495HR, 495HF and 7495. FEA and strain gauge studies helped drive design improvements, resulting in an improved structural life of up to 60,000 hours. Upgrades can be supplied in the multiple configurations including bare frames, assembled with OEM equivalent components, and with the 10-inch or 11-inch Delta conversion with grease lines and covers.

PH final drive upgrade

P&H lower works systems have been proven in severe-duty applications. This same engineering and manufacturing expertise has now been applied to the design of parts for non-P&H undercarriages. The Final Drive upgrade allows the drive shaft to be removed from the out-board side of the crawler frame on CAT 7495 and Bucyrus 495 series shovels. This eliminates the need to decouple the motor and remove the transmission to replace the final drive shaft, dramatically reducing the maintenance downtime associated with replacement of these lower works components.

• Extended component life — increased spline length between tumbler and shaft interface reduces stresses on the spline 
• Additional thrust support — oversized thrust surfaces mounted to the crawler frame promotes increased bearing life by removing axial loads transferred through the bearing capsule

Standard- and heavy-duty dual-acting dipper door snubbers

Mitigate structural damage; dual-acting hydraulic snubbers significantly reduce dipper door impacts with dipper body during the dig cycle. Available in the standard-duty configuration and heavy-duty for larger or heavier dipper doors, the heavy-duty snubber provides more than 2.5 times the snubbing force of the standard snubber.

Sure wrench

Designed for the tough mining conditions, the P&H Sure Wrench provides exceptional efficiency and resistance to wear. It allows for one-person operation of pipe breaking from the operator console control and is compatible with all P&H drills as well as most other manufacturers’ drills. Wrench sizes to accommodate pipe diameters 178-365 mm (7 to 14-3/8 in). Faster pipe change-outs for increased productivity.

• Increased breaking cylinder stroke and breaking torque
• Floating dies allow for up to three degrees pipe taper per side
