Advanced feed system

Four feed motors power three driven feed rollers to provide multiple contact points for carrying the stem. Designed to center the stem for efficient feeding. Low clamping pressure delivers high feed force with low energy consumption.

Rugged delimbing knife system

One lower and two upper hydraulically controlled delimbing knives and a fixed vertical top knife, with upper knives designed to handle trees with tough limbs like lodgepole pine. Cast iron knives deliver high durability and performance.

Accurate length/diameter measuring systems

Patented length-measuring wheel cylinder design ensures constant equalized pressure to closely follow stem irregularities. High-resolution encoders, both left and right, deliver high accuracy.

Constant Cut saw unit

The MaxiXT smart control system is designed to enable fast, accurate execution of even the narrowest of cutting windows. The power of the knives, feed rollers and tilt down function are determined by stem diameter and tree species, and are easily adjusted using a graph. This helps optimize your productivity, measurement accuracy and time savings.

Komatsu’s Constant Cut saw unit helps maximize cutting productivity and reliability. It ensures optimal 130 ft/sec (40 m/sec) chain speed through the entire cutting cycle, reducing the risks of splitting and over-revving the saw motor. Integrated saw and bar feeding valves reduce energy loss.
