The stage was set for the opening of MINExpo 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where our mainstage theater hosted live presentations throughout the event. More than 20,000 people attended this year’s event.
New innovations in hard rock mining were featured at MINExpo 2021. Machines spotlighted include a redesigned WX07 LHD and the new ZB21 bolter with an integrated screen handling system.
Underground soft rock was highlighted at MINExpo 2021, which included the versatile and agile Joy BH-18A battery hauler with lithium-ion technology.
Attendees of Komatsu’s MINExpo event got to see a live demonstration of the PC7000-11 hydraulic excavator operated remotely from its Tucson, Arizona, location more than 413 miles away.
Smart Mining and mine-wide optimization that focused on technology and data solutions were popular at MINExpo 2021. The hybrid WE1850-3 wheel loader and the advanced ZR122 blasthole drill were also featured.
Two fun photo booths were at the Komatsu space at MINExpo 2021. Spectators could get photo keepsakes inside the massive buckets of the WE1850-3 wheel loader and the PC5500-11 hydraulic excavator.
MINExpo attendees had many opportunities to meet one-on-one with Komatsu experts about the latest machines, technology and innovations in mining.
Live presentations in the mainstage theater were featured each day. Packed crowds got to see the PC700-11 teleoperation demonstration with an operator onstage loading an Innovative Autonomous Haulage Vehicle in Tucson, Arizona, located 413 miles away.
The teleoperation demonstration showcased how Komatsu, Modular Mining and Immersive Technologies helps operators perform with the same views they would have if they were physically at the mining site.
Komatsu’s virtual host moderator, Madison Alexander, sits atop the “truck bed studio.” Komatsu hosted a series of live virtual events for those that couldn’t attend. In all, a combination of 22 live and recorded events were presented.
