Komatsu Assists the Casualties of the Asian Earthquake and Tsunamis.

We hereby extend our sincere condolences to the the people suffered from the devastating earthquake off Sumatra, Indonesia and tsunamis which occurred on Sunday, December 26, 2004.

Komatsu has pledged ¥200 million worth of aid to the areas damaged by the disaster. The Company has started supports by donating construction equipment and sending operators in concert with its local subsidiaries and distributors in Southeast Asia.
This aid includes the donation of ¥20 million to the Japanese Red Cross through its support organization.

After studying the local situation, Komatsu is contributing swift and proper assistance to the reconstruction and recovery efforts for the affected areas.
